We invest or co-invest as principals in a wide range of assets with the objective of capturing stable, predictable and sustainable risk-adjusted returns.
While we are not wedded to any particular investment style, asset class or geography, we seek to identify nascent or undervalued opportunities and tend to be long-term holders, from a few months to many years. Our portfolio may at any point in time comprise listed and OTC securities, derivatives, funds, REITs, private vehicles and direct investments. Over the years we have built meaningful expertise in equities, debt, currencies, commodities, real estate, private equity and other alternative assets in many markets around the world.
As long-term investors we are prepared to sustain significant portfolio volatility only if the risks we take are thoroughly researched and understood. Our priority is to maximize income and capital appreciation while continuously optimizing our risk/return profile. We take pride in our rigorous asset allocation and risk management process. Risks are carefully analyzed and consistently monitored at the level of both individual positions and aggregate exposures (asset class, sector, geography). As well, we periodically evaluate operational and counterparty risks, and conduct value-at-risk (VAR) and stress test analyses and risk factor modeling.
